Statement from the Health System Alliance of Arizona Regarding Gov. Ducey Policy Agenda

Phoenix, AZ– The Health System Alliance of Arizona issued the following statement regarding Governor Doug Ducey’s 2021 Policy Agenda:

“As the largest health systems representing 80% of care provided in this state, we appreciate Governor Ducey prioritizing the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in his policy agenda. Our health systems were key partners in the early stages of distribution and are pleased to see efforts to expand the distribution network so eligible Arizonans can receive a vaccine.

“We also commend the Governor’s proposal to permanently expand and enhance access to health care services through telehealth. Throughout the past year, telehealth has served as a critical tool for patients across the state, many who are in high-risk categories or live in remote areas, to receive care while health care providers manage the additional stress COVID-19 is placing on our health care delivery system.

“Although strategies such as telehealth are helping us reallocate resources during COVID-19, we need the help of all Arizonans in our effort to slow down the spread of the virus and alleviate the increased demand on our hospital systems. We know this has not been easy for our community, but we urge Arizonans to follow the existing mitigation efforts and CDC guidelines to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure. We must remain vigilant and work together to overcome this challenge.”
