Health System Alliance of Arizona Statement Regarding the Passage of H.B. 2691 (Health care workforce; grants programs)

Phoenix, AZ– The Health System Alliance of Arizona CEO Brittney Kaufmann issued the following statement regarding the passage of H.B. 2691 (health care workforce; grants programs):

On behalf of the Health System Alliance of Arizona, representing nearly 80,000 health care employees, we thank members of the Arizona House of Representatives for supporting H.B. 2691. For the past three years, our health care workforce has been eroded due to the increased demand and mental stress of the pandemic. Arizona currently ranks in the top 5 states for critical staffing shortages, creating an unsustainable path for our health care delivery system.

“It is critical that Arizona invest in building a robust workforce pipeline to attract, train, and retain quality nurses, and H.B. 2691 will provide the resources to do so. We thank Representative Joanne Osborne for her tireless leadership on this bill, and look forward to working with the Arizona Senate and the Governor’s Office on this important legislation.”
