Phoenix, AZ–The Health System Alliance of Arizona CEO Brittney Kaufmann released the following statement regarding Governor Ducey’s announcement to provide more resources to Arizona hospitals:
“We appreciate Governor Ducey and the Arizona Department of Health Services allocating additional resources to the health care delivery system to alleviate the demand on our hospitals and provide additional post-acute beds. These resources will allow us to safely discharge patients to other facilities, creating more capacity in our hospitals and emergency rooms to treat patients in need. These post-acute beds, combined with the additional funding to extend the current AZDHS nursing contracts, will help us significantly as we deal with the current and anticipated COVID-19 surge and patient demand over the coming months.”
“Each day, our hospital and health care workers are on the front lines managing the COVID-19 pandemic and providing patient care, but we need the help of all Arizonans. We all play a role in keeping our community safe and healthy. The best way to combat COVID-19 and to relieve the pressure on our hospitals is for individuals to get vaccinated and to get their booster shot now.”
