Health Care Coalition Urges Immediate Passage of the Health Care Investment Act

Phoenix, AZ– A coalition of health care leaders issued the following statement today urging the immediate passage of the Health Care Investment Act (S.B. 1247 & H.B. 2668):

“The Arizona health care community stands united in support of the Health Care Investment Act (S.B. 1247 & H.B. 2668) and we urge the legislature to pass it immediately. Especially now, in a time of an epidemic response, this legislation is absolutely critical to ensure our hospitals, doctors, nurses and other health care professionals have the resources needed to meet the current and growing demand for services. We are grateful for the state’s health care workers who are on the front lines providing care to patients in need each day. As health care leaders, we are committed to doing our part to ensure Arizona’s health care facilities continue to provide excellent care for Arizona patients. We are in unprecedented times and the state must do everything possible to ensure the safety and well-being of Arizonans.”

The Health Care Investment Act, sponsored by Representative Regina Cobb and Senator David Gowan, would draw down $1.1 billion in federal matching dollars to provide much needed resources to hospitals, doctors, nurses and other health care providers.
