Statement from the Health System Alliance of Arizona on the Better Care Reconciliation Act

Phoenix, AZ- The Health System Alliance of Arizona (Alliance) is an advocacy organization representing the interests of integrated healthcare delivery systems in Arizona. Collectively, its membership, which includes Banner Health, Dignity Health, HonorHealth and Tenet Healthcare’s Arizona platform (Abrazo Community Health Network and Carondelet Health Network), represents the largest healthcare providers and employers in the State of Arizona.

The Alliance has issued the following statement on the Better Care Reconciliation Act, as introduced in the United States Senate last week:

“The Alliance opposes the Better Care Reconciliation Act in its current form because it represents an unprecedented and untenable cost-shift to the State of Arizona; endangers healthcare coverage for Arizona’s Medicaid population; threatens the viability and sustainability of our healthcare industry; and jeopardizes Arizona’s economy.

“As an industry, we stand ready to assist our policymakers in drafting legislation that protects patients, while also driving efficiency, affordability and innovation into our healthcare delivery system.”
